First live show after pandemic!
The program had just the right length, with artistic director Zalman adorably welcoming us back first. Hathaway and Curtis, the principals, displayed amazing endurance next. It was wonderful to see the familiar veteran dancers, especially the amazing Jan Burkhard (how does she do it?), as well as character dancer Yevgeny Shlapko, who are as beautiful as ever, along with some newly promoted individuals. Exquisite were Jayson Pescasio and Courtney Schenberger. She was a gray, limp dancing corpse who would suddenly be leaping through the air. The ambiance of Sleepy Hollow was great, with a good amount of full company, which is always nice to see. A great Halloween show! The safety check for COVID was appreciated, but even more so was the metal detector and bag check. The check-in process went quickly and smoothly, with knowledgeable, classy ushers at the venue ready to help the patrons.
